ABOUT VAL

Valerie Dzielski is an explorative, emotive performer of a variety of genres. She loves language and history, the research of which informs her interpretations and inspires her to invite audiences to connect with the shared human experiences and emotions from stories across every era. As a teacher of voice and piano at the Bryn Mawr School, Valerie inspires her students to become skilled, independent, emotive musicians who are self-motivated to pursue their craft in whatever genre speaks to them.

“When listening to great singing, a listener cannot help but empathize. Across centuries and cultures, people can relate to one another in our shared human experience - in the joy of newfound love, or the rage and sorrow of betrayal. The stories shared in opera are not archaic, they’re the same stories we tell today and have always told.”
